Music Sundays: DVWN

Although I am not a fan of the company he’s signed to, DVWN’s music is good enough that I’m willing to overlook my feelings. He hasn’t released a bad song, either. This is his most recently release. I hope you enjoy it!

Find his music on Spotify and Apple.

Music Sundays: Bibi (비비)

Please enjoy this short break from the dumpster fire of a planet. Today’s singer is Bibi. She’s a recent debut and every song of hers is exquisite. This includes her covers as well. Here is her most recent release, Kazino (which is also the name of a boy who I like).

Want more? Find her music on Spotify and Apple. You can also watch a few more videos behind the cut.

And, while you’re here, consider donating to a bail fund near you.

Music Sundays: HA:TFELT

HA:TFELT is a former member of the girl group Wonder Girls and although I am a fan of Wonder Girls, I am mostly familiar with her as a soloist. Two years ago I shared another one of her songs (a duet), because all of her songs are good. And her newest release is no exception. The full-length album, titled 1719, is tremendous. I love every single song on it and she’s released music videos for four (!) different songs. I recommend them all, but we’ll start with Satellite:

If you like this, please check out her full album, which you can find on Spotify and Apple Music. The rest of her music videos are behind the cut, if you’re curious. Please, give her a listen – she is amazing!

Music Sundays: Jackson Wang – 100 Ways

First, let me start this off by saying that I am a casual fan of GOT7, though I’ve liked all 3 of their most recent Korean releases (Spinning Top, Call My Name, and Dye) and would recommend checking them out (Spotify). I’ve also enjoyed some of the solo/duo work that the members have done, but most of Jackson’s songs haven’t really done anything for me. However, a friend of mine suggested that I give 100 Ways a try and boy am I glad that I did. It’t unlike anything either GOT7 or Jackson has released (as far as I know) before.

It’s really, really good and even if you don’t think you like pop music, give it a listen. Actually, you should watch the music video too. Why? Because it’s gorgeous and Jackson’s backup dancers are the Kinjaz, an extremely talented dance group. Anyway, I hope you like this song and video as much as I do.

Also, Kinjaz posted a behind the scenes video on the Facebook page and it’s also worth a watch. You can find it here. I would really like a full movie based on this music video, thanks.

Music Sundays: HA:TFELT, 김보형, SURAN – Cross Country (크로스컨트리 OST Part.4)

OST, in case you were curious, stands for Original Soundtrack. And, in this case, the song Cross Country is on the soundtrack for a Korean variety show (kind of like a reality show here in the West, but way more scripted) of the same name. This song is really chill and enjoyable. The women aren’t part of a group, but have come together for this track.

Music Sundays: Twice – Signal

You may have noticed a lack of girl groups on here and for that I apologize. I will try to post more! Twice is a group with the company JYP Entertainment and their songs tend to be catchy and cute. I quite enjoy their music and their MVs are always unique and often fun. Their most recent release is the song Signal and it’s both hilarious and weird.

They are most well known for their song TT. This song is a lot of fun and super cute.

But, I confess, right now my favorite Twice song is Knock Knock. It’s really catchy and the MV is adorable (but also super weird, which is a thing with them). Before, though, you’ll get the chorus stuck in your head.

Music Sundays: VAV – Flower

If you know me as a kpop fan, you know that I like a lot of different groups and I tend to collect new and underrated groups (this almost always leads to heartache, but what are you going to do?). One of these groups is VAV. They’ve been around since 2015, but I only checked them out this year. Their older songs are all right, but their new single is really great! It’s cute, catchy, and the video is fun.

Music Sundays: 2CHAIN (KH&JH) – YOU AND I

One of my favorite KPOP groups is Monsta X (I’ve briefly mentioned them a few times) and a few weeks ago two of the members, including my favorite (Kihyun) released this great cover of Crush’s song You and I (I shared a Crush song on here before). It is so good, I adore it. I hope you do, too.

Jooheon is the one in the hat and Kihyun is the other. Below is the original version as sung by Crush.
